Grief is the normal and natural reaction to loss - whether that loss has been brought about by a bereavement, i.e. the death of someone important in your life, the end of a relationship, or one of the over 40 significant life events that invoke grief.
Grief represents the conflicting feelings that occur whenever there has been an end to, or a change in, a familiar pattern or routine. Most of us associate grief with the death of a loved one, but actually many life events can result in the feelings known as grief.
Everyone's experience of grief is different.
Here are some common symptoms:
The Grief Recovery Method is the only evidence based grief action programme that can be worked through on a one to one and group basis. It is designed to reduce isolation, increase participation of those who have experienced loss; resolving how they feel about it to begin their recovery. I am an Advanced Certified Grief Recovery Specialist that is able to teach the Grief Recovery Method.
I work with individuals and groups either face to face or online.
Unfortunately, much of what we have learned about grief since early childhood is neither true, nor is it helpful. Through the Grief Recovery Method we begin to change how we relate to grief, the types of conversations we have and help ourselves feel less isolated.
The Grief Recovery Programme is a set programme of sessions:
one to one x 7 (60-90min sessions)
This approach is for those that want to work with me on a one to one basis to work through the programme in a private, safe environment. At the end of the programme you can expect to feel more at ease with your loss and have begun your recovery.
Group x 8 (120min sessions)
This approach is for those that want to complete the programme in a confidential group setting. At the end of the programme you can expect to feel more at ease with your loss and have begun your recovery. You will also have connected with other grievers that you may wish to keep in contact with beyond the programme.
From my heart to yours.
